Best Dive Bars in Dallas

Sometimes, you just want a beer. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. In those times, head to one of Dallas’s best dive bars, grab a PBR, and relax – just don’t drop anything on the floor.
Lee Harveys
Campfires, dog-friendly patios and pitchers of PBR make it a dive bar. Surprisingly good food makes it extraordinary. Ignore the neighborhood, you’ll be okay. Besides, Lee Harveys is worth the trip to South Dallas.
Lakewood Landing
When you get to Lakewood Landing, make a beeline for the couch in the back, with a quick stop at the jukebox. Like its neighbor Cosmos, the Landing’s is one of the best in Dallas. Did we mention the burgers? Try the burgers.
Cosmos
We’ve never seen it in the daylight, and we’re pretty sure that’s a good thing. Regardless, Cosmos is great for one thing in particular: martinis (surprised?) We also hear they have awesome pizza, but for some reason we’ve never been there early enough to try it. Love it? Hate it? Let us know in the comments.
Green Elephant
Green Elephant would also probably top our list of best patios. There’s a HAMMOCK. They also have great live music and awesome drink specials way later than most of the other bars near SMU.
Billiard Bar
You may not be Minnesota Fats, but you can probably hold your own at pool. Show your friends your hustlin’ skills while throwing back cheap beer at the Billiard Bar. Take a break, move out to the patio and watch the Lower Greenville crowds rush by.
Bryan Street Tavern
A hidden gem at the corner of Bryan and Peak, Bryan Street Tavern has some amazing drink and food specials, like $16 for a pitcher of beer and a pizza on Tuesdays. Order up and enjoy on their gravel patio and admire a stunning view of the Dallas skyline.
