Tre Amici Prime Steakhouse and Seafood is a nice joint, no question about it.  But it's not every day that we can afford a nice steak and a bottle of wine.  Thankfully, Tre Amici offers some great deals that deliver all the fancy steakhouse fun at a fraction of the fancy steakhouse price.

Each week Tre Amici spotlights its bar menu, signature menu items and select libations Monday through Saturday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00pm to 11:00pm.

This month, the restaurants of One Arts Plaza, the new, modern structure at the edge of the Dallas Arts District, are introducing signature cocktails to celebrate the growing arts scene that includes the recent unveiling of the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

We recently had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of Bailey's Prime Plus, the brand new, very upscale steakhouse near North Park Mall.

Dallas Restaurant Week is one of our favorite times of the year.  During Restaurant Week, more than 100 restaurants will feature three-course prix fixe meals for $35, offering frugal diners a chance to indulge without going into debt.  And beyond hedonistic pleasures, the event serves a great cause, raising funds for the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home.

The concept driving Vino 100 wine bar in Uptown is something we fully endorse: wine can be unintimidating, inexpensive and fun.  Vino 100 offers 100 bottles of wine for $25 or less.  The relaxing atmosphere and helpful staff create a perfect opportunity for the novice wine drinker to sip and learn.  Vino 100 also offers several higher-end bottles for the more experienced or less financially-constrained set.

Living in Texas, one soon learns that the only way to beat the heat is with a cold beer.  While cheap pitchers of the light stuff can both quench your thirst and water your plants, Dallas offers some great beer bars for the adventurous drinker or aspiring beer connoisseur in all of us.

Often overshadowed by wine giants California, Washington and Oregon, Texas is the fifth most prolific wine-producing state in the nation, with nearly 180 wineries.  And with vineyards and wineries spread throughout the state, including dense populations in the Hill Country, Southeast Texas and North Texas, it's easy to neglect the four great wineries within the Dallas city limits.

There's no better way to celebrate July 4^th in Dallas than surrounded by good friends and cold drinks.  If you're like us, you'll probably want to establish your patriotism by downing drinks at a number of Dallas-area bars and events.  And while freedom isn't free, this year, it's cheap, so check out the suggestions below to get your holiday started.
