Lota's Goat

Lota's Goat is apparently a dive bar's dive bar... if you know what I mean. Located somewhere around Lakewood, Lota's Goat is one of those places that you just have to like, if only for it's sheer unwillingness to die. Bar padding is held up by red duct tape, and the furniture is as old as the dive itself. Lota's Goat is even open in the mornings for hardcore weekend (or weekday?) drinkers. Lota's Goat also features a stage for live music and karaoke, plus a vintage arcade machine. Oh, and did I mention that Busch Light is only $1.25 from 7 to 10 am? That's right. AM beer specials.

Dyer Street Bar

Dyer Street Bar

The Dyer Street Bar is a laid-back dive bar in SMU territory on, you guessed it, Dyer Street. The Dyer Street Bar is a hole in the wall dive bar where you can get cheap drinks, watch HDTV, play pool, and listen to music, all in one place. Best of all, Dyer Street isn't overrun by a certain breed of obnoxious SMU grads either, so it's safe for a few after work drinks.

Copper Spur Saloon

[location-name_N]

Copper Spur Saloon is a dive bar located in North Dallas. The Copper Spur Saloon features cheap drinks, a clean, laid back atmosphere and plenty of entertainment options. At Copper Spur Saloon, you can play a rousing game of shuffleboard, a round of poker, some pool, and when you're done with the games, put a quarter in the juke box and hit up the dance floor. Copper Spur Saloon is a hidden gem of a dive bar that you should definitely check out soon.

M Street Bar

[location-name_N]

M Street Bar welcomes the 18 and up crowd on Greenville Ave. Dallasites party inside (beware: there may be a cover) and outside on the rooftop deck. the M Street Bar also includes pool tables, big screen TVs, and some sort of water sculpture.

J Pepe's Tex-Mex Bar & Grill (Greenville)

If the Tex-Mex food and great margaritas don't convince you, how about this? They have a pool. And a patio. But mostly a pool. So head to Greenville, grab a margarita, and actually enjoy a Texas summer day out by the pool!

Village Country Club

When we moved to Dallas, we did as many new kids on the block do. We moved into the Village apartments, mostly because they had a bar. And a pool. And a bar at a pool.

The Village Country Club isn't high class and only has Blue Moon and Keystone on tap. But, they have affordable food and drinks, plus their happy hour is quite possibly the best in Dallas.

Elbow Room

[location-name_N]

Two of our favorite things in the world are kicking back and eating fantastic pizza. Elbow Room has both, with darts, shuffleboard and a great jukebox to boot.

Located in Deep Ellum (kind of), Elbow Room is a neighborhood bar frequented by people who nearby at Baylor.
