So last night my cousin and I wanted to go out last night. She lives on henderson so we walked over to barcadia, but it was ridiculously packed as was blue collar. We decided to head over to the slip inn and grab a drink, we walked in and up to the bar. We were greeted by 3 bartenders and the 1st thing one of them says to me is "takeoff your hat". I asked why and he said because I could be in a gang and they don't allow gang paraphenelia. Now I don't know when wearing a dallas cowboys baseball cap became a sign of gang affiliations, but I guess combined with my khaki cargo shorts and my powder blue gap polo I must've looked ready to throw down with anyone who stepped up to me. Well. I removed my hat and then asked the bartender what gang he was in because he was also wearing a hat. He didn't find this amusing and responded that his hat was a military cap. I then replied that he was disrespecting the people of the armed forces by wearing his hat askew instead of in regular military fashion. He came back with it wasn't a real military cap but he was "reppin" adidas. I told him my hat was reebok, which he did not like at all. He and his friends quickly dispersed like cockroaches when the lights come on. We waited like 5 minutes trying to wave someone down to order drinks from. We eventually left and went back to blue collar, where even 3 peole deep around the bar, the excellent female bartender got us taken care of in under 2 minutes. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE SLIP INN. And did i mention there were roughly 5 people in there, I guess I now know why they weren't busy.
Stoneleigh Hotel - NOT the Stoneleigh P --- the Stoneleigh P is a bar across the street. The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa has nothing to do with the Stoneleigh P
I love the Quarter Bar! You can get drink specials all over town. What makes this bar unique is its decor and atmosphere. I LOVE New Orleans and when I walk in this place I feel like I am not in Dallas, but in the French Quarter. They have funky couches and chairs to sit in, cool antique art and signage, ornate carved bars and moldings around the doorways. It's just cool. Now that the Rooftop bar opened, it's a great place to sit, relax with friends and watch the sun set over Uptown. Also excellent people-watching! Can't recommend this place enough!

i been to Gui so many times... eveyday feel new and freshnewthing happening at Gui. feel like im home and i feel like i beenthere regular customer for many years.. Gui has all week happy hour i thinknot just 5 o'clock

It's very hard for me to not make a joke about the following phrase "everyone in East Dallas knows how good the sausage is!" So... I will let it be!
Instead, I will say that the pizza at Times Ten on Wednesdays is amazing and I highly recommend their Merlot!
I don't know - their beer selection MIGHT be better, but the atmosphere just isn't the same.
