If there's one thing Dallas knows how to do right, it's dive bars. In a lot of other cities, you go to a dive bar, and you leave a few minutes later - either because you're disgusted, you really didn't fit in, or you happened to piss off the bartender. In Dallas, however - you find a dive bar, and you find a place where you can just hang out and be yourself. The Green Elephant fits this category, and falls in a similar category to Lee Harveys and Lakewood Landing, all fantastic dive bars. The Green Elephant has a great outdoor patio complete with plenty of picnic benches, plus a comfey hammock. Inside, you'll find live music and very cheap drinks. Go here on a Thursday night for $2.75 drinks until 11pm.
