Show your smooth side: tequilla cocktails at home

We’ve talked tequila before, and you know we’re big fans. Thus, in the name of research, we attended a Tres Generaciones tequila tasting at Victor Tango’s on Henderson. Victor Tango’s is a great bar already – fresh ingredients, great food, a great vibe. (The only thing missing is a patio – hint, hint)

Tres Generaciones tequila is smooth, sexy, and the perfect bottle to bring to impress a party or a date. With a price point in the $50s, we know it’s outside the range for your typical margarita mix, but think of the expressions on your friends faces when you bust this out at your next gathering:

And it looks as good as it tastes. My personal fave was the Reposado, which is the mid-range – aged for 4 months in American oak, smooth, fruity, delicious – and you don’t have to chase it with lime!

Here’s a drink recipe where you can show your bartending prowess and have a kick-ass happy hour at home:

Smooth Generacion

1 1/2 oz. Tres Generaciones Anejo
1 whole peeled (cut into small cubed slices)Texas peach.
1 oz. agave nectar
4-5 large mint sprigs
2 oz. fresh lemon sour

Muddle mint, peaches, agave nectar, add fresh lemon sour, and Tres Generaciones anejo. Shake, pour and strain over ice. Garnish with a mint sprig and dust with fresh ground nutmeg.
